What a victory! Today MPs narrowly backed our bill to cut the Brexit red tape and end this economic nightmare.

The PM must listen to Parliament and the public, drop his self-imposed red lines and go for growth with a new customs union.

Listened to @polcurrency.bsky.social yesterday and was screaming at my phone as George Osborne said, from his hideously ill informed stand point, that he looked forward to hearing civil liberties groups and @libdems.org.uk "wanging on" about jury trials.

Good George. Because rest assured, I will.

Yes The Daily Star! Very much yes!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if Kevin Sinfield had played his career in rugby union they probably would have given him the vacant Duchy of York.

I know it’s daft in so many ways but that newspaper at times makes me proud to be British 😂 🇬🇧

Fortunately David Lammy you have the chance to vote for a customs union by backing our bill next week.

See you in the Aye lobby?

Listening to #theashes and was reminded of this glorious ad campaign of yesteryear. Just lovely stuff all round.

Nice distraction from the actual cricket.

Well said @libdemdaisy.bsky.social

Look at Zia Yusuf as she absolutely harpoons his nonsense!

Can we talk about Daniel Sturridge’s leather shacket and single earring combination?

Bold.

Absolutely brilliant to see this lad come on as well! Luke O’Nien: Premier League footballer.

He’s come a hell of a long way since being released by Watford.

Hard work, determination, attitude. Turns out it can get results.

Good effort Mr Sunderland!

Having read their reasoning I understand why the WI feels it has no choice. The message of continuing fellowship, as much as possible, and solidarity is welcome. I still find this incredibly sad. Can't we have some love and respect with our jam and Jerusalem?

Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

Went to my first Sunderland game this season (not as easy to get there as often as I like what with living in Chester) and what an awesome game! So impressive that we kept our heads and found a way to win in difficult circumstances. Really impressive football! Great to be there with my amazing wife!

This is absolutely wild. Not only are Reform morally bankrupt liars but they’re just absolutely rubbish aren’t they?

One hundred per cent.

This is about deep fundamental freedoms. This is really serious and we should all be against it.
David Lammy was right in 2020 when he called the jury system fundamental to our constitution.

Now the government wants to remove juries from all but the most serious cases. It is dangerous and wrong and the Prime Minister must reverse it.

Shame on the government for this. Never ever let them forget it. The Tories and Reform would 100% have done this as well. Politics is about choices and about your priorities. They have all made theirs clear. I think, and so do @libdems.org.uk, that they are profoundly wrong.
I wish I was surprised. Buried in this Budget is a plan to slash the Digital Services Tax, giving a multi-billion tax cut to US tech giants and the likes of Elon Musk.

That's right, cutting taxes for the world's richest man while hiking them for millions of hard-working Brits.

Massive kudos to Tony Mowbray for this interview. It’s one thing for blokes my age to be open about “embarrassing” health issues but for a man of his generation to do it is a big thing. Get the men, particularly the more vintage men, in your life to read this.

The BBC Sport website has just said on its live text feed that Liverpool have lost by an aggregate of 7-1 to both Nottingham Forest and PSV over their last 2 games. Aggregate scores are usually what you look at when 2 teams have played each other more than once. I’m sorry BBC Sport, I love you but…

The nonsense from the MoJ in this leaked document is mind blowing. To talk as if fair trials based on a system that has endured for 800 years is what has caused a backlog which is based on systemic underinvestment and executive failure over the past few decades is either stupid, dishonest or both.
