Democrats are the new Whig Party. We say there is a "Moderate" and "Progressive" caucus, but the "moderates" continue to demand Conservatism. These Conservative Democrats have stolen the party and any goodwill built by Progressives, hollowing out our big wins. It's time for a new Party.

There are a huge number of Democrats who would be Republicans if Republicans were just a little cooler about black and queer people.

If people in 2018 were given the right to vote the minimum wage in Michigan would be $13.48, and adjust every October with inflation. The cities of East Lansing and Lansing are currently under charter review. We should fight for higher minimum wages, RCV, housing equity, and the entire DSA platform.

leaving the cruelty aside for just a minute it's absolutely humiliating to imagine being my age or older and getting excited because you think you've been given permission to say a bad word. what are you gonna do next, ride your tricycle past the end of the block
I guess I'm too woke because I find the proliferation of this really off-putting and gross. The fact that it's now reached the "enlightened centrists" class is depressing.

This kind of comment is so annoying when in reality AOC has done like literal hundreds of events with DSA - if you're unaware of it it looks like you're not very involved either. What is your critique? All you do is boo incorrect stuff from the sidelines. Go be on a podcast or whatever.

This is so simple and brilliant. Literally the same system used on elevators. We recognized that every floor needs its own door to avoid having hundred foot tall open chutes. Every station should have the same thing.

if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything

@demsocialists.bsky.social is so exciting right now because in times of membership fluctuation, the core organizing cadre is skilled, motivated, and welcoming. This shows a stability to outsiders who can view the movement as an entity capable of rising to the occasion. It feels like genuine hope
