Much though my heart cries out to donate to Palestinians on this platform desperate for food, I'm a pensioner and have a limited income. I give to a charity, and I join protests and vigils to show my solidarity with you.

A disastrous residential fire in Hong Kong tonight.

These concrete buildings are normally very fire resistant, but when they renovate here, they cover the buildings completely in bamboo scaffolding, turning them into literal smoke and fire traps from the outside.

The energy company obligation (ECO), a levy on bills which funds energy-efficiency schemes for low-income homes has been axed in the Budget.
Unless the funding is replaced *in full* in the government's Warm Homes plan, this will be a disaster for climate action, fuel poverty and jobs.
