ICE and CBP agents seem to enjoy gratuitously breaking glass—from car windows to store fronts to homes. It’s an expression of unchecked power and dominance: “We’re in charge. We break and shatter what we want.”

And nights of broken glass have been a harbinger of worse to come.

Just so you know, this is what Reform party wants to withdraw from. Especially read the list of rights they don't think people in UK deserve.

With remarkable serendipity with everything else going on this week this should be the biggest story about the BBC. The remarkable Sara Cox has found a rich seam of good out there. Don't let anyone tell you we're a broken country. This is magnificent as is Sara

It's real, and it's mind-blowing.

A complete lack of awareness and a national embarrassment.
Just some British patriots in Benidorm, taking over a street in Spain to shout in their own language about unwanted foreigners. It’s a blessing that they are too thick to understand irony.

That's probably why @mattchorley.bsky.social on BBC 5live was cut off just now in the middle of a discussion about US politics.
Forced to resign over how a video shown on the BBC of Donald Trump over a year ago was edited.

Please remind me who runs the BBC.

Because it looks like it's the USA.

Is "Truth Social" deliberately ironic?
Trump - the king of fake news and hypocrite extraordinaire - has the gall to welcome someone else’s resignation… we’re talking about a man convicted of rape and of tax fraud - who did not resign and never would. Incredible. And btw, I resent his interference in our media and our country.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Hmm. Who the x can he mean?
Everything on our news agenda is being driven by a corrupted disinformation machine, run by a billionaire who sponsors Tommy Robinson and who keeps trying to foment civil war in the UK.

And incredibly our MPs & news providers stay there.

THAT is the problem. Not some bad editing choice on the BBC.

If anything this shows the reliability of the BBC. If this had been any other channel the response would have been "Ah well, it's just (e.g.)GBNews/etc., they do that all the time".
The broadcaster is expected to apologise for the airing of an edited clip of a speech by Donald Trump

It is because the BBC is generally unbiased - and was prepared to state this before political appointees on the board scuppered them- thst it is being attacked.

I agree. Give the BBC financial independence so that the politically appointed board members can't interfere as has happened here.

Crazy that we hear about Train Drivers who get £60,000 a year for driving a train.

But we never hear about the boss of Tesco who gets £30,000 a day and doesn't even pay tax in the UK.

Or the £250m a day that the likes of Amazon, Vodafone, BP and Shell don't pay in tax.
