Hey, CBP isn't allowed to do any of the stuff it's doing in Minneapolis even within the confines of its extremely ridiculous "100 miles from any border" jurisdiction. It's 300 miles from Canada and 160 miles to Lake Superior. They're breaking the law standing around, let alone beating up protesters.
Border Patrol typically only has legal authority within 100 mi. of the U.S. border. That raised questions when Cdr. Gregory Bovino was at the scene of the fatal shooting of Renee Good.

The FBI has taken full control of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Macklin Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) officer in Minneapolis, it emerged on Thursday.
In a statement, the Minneosta Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) said it was initially called upon to help investigate the shooting before federal officials “reversed course” and said the case would be solely led by the FBI. As it now no longer has access to the case materials, witnesses and evidence, the BCA said it had “reluctantly” withdrawn from the investigation. Continue reading...

This is *definitely* how you behave when you're trying to bring every resource to bear, rather than trying to cover up the unlawful behavior of your own personnel.
According to my sources, the FBI was initially open to a concurrent investigation with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (the state agency that would do this investigation).
Trumpy U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen heard about this and intervened, barring the FBI from cooperating with local police.

Also, I wonder if people get how strange it is that Bovino keeps showing up on all these raids.
He's one of the top-most CBP officials there is. It'd be like if NYPD Commish Tisch kept putting on body armor to do small drug raids in NYC all the time.
