Naming these like the subways is a big lol.

If your subway has to stop at traffic lights, it's not a subway.

How about just changing the email address to not include special characters?

The plan for Lansdowne 2.0 events is to remove the parking lanes and have bus lanes from the canal bridge up to the Queensway.

Would be nice to have that configuration all the time though.

If the parents have ever voted for Ford, Tory, or any of the other anti-renter politicians in Ontario's history, I think they owe their children free rent.

Also very funny to put this image on the same page. Unclear why "consistent patterns of fenestration" make these buildings good, but don't make the slab apartments in the previous post good.

This guideline is from Ottawa (similar exist in Toronto).

The city's highrise guidelines offer *zero* consideration for residents of high rises and only consider the pedestrian experience of these buildings, which is insane.

people absolutely were displaced, but the resulting buildings improved the lives of many more people. Also, the ongoing gentrification of central Toronto houses has probably displaced even more people, whose problems are invisible.

As ever, the problem is displacement and the solution is tenant protections. But since most of the country doesn't view renting as a valid lifestyle, preventing apartment buildings is the only lever they want to pull...

Toronto politicians force most development onto main streets where places like The Imperial & United Bakers is then…try to stop housing there. Classic. Private space is sacrosanct. Public spaces are easily lost.
