I wasn't satisfied with the default camera following the player when jumping in areas with vertical screenspace. So I made a rail system for the camera to follow using flags and some basic math.

played it real quick - the levels are bosses, and they each have their own 'hand'. Selected cards aren't played, they're like, passive effects you get to activate for 1 stage at a time. Pretty interesting idea, I like what it's going for

the process for this was drawing the colors with the same foreground palette and then color-correcting in clip studio, then batching the colors back into the original PNGs.

working on the backgrounds now - even somnabuster, which had a colorful and vibrant 'theme', had background colors that were too high on saturation and low on luminosity for my liking. trying to do something more pastel and wistful here, while the foreground objects use 'objective' colors
