to be honest, I don't think there's a single right pairing.
Strawberries (esp if still not fully ripe) go quite well with white fish.
Chocolate goes well with chili con anything.
And so the flavour adventures go on ...

My latest discovery is nutritional yeast. Now THERE's a seasoning to be applied with caution. Great umami though.
