The South Carolina federal judge appointed by designation to consider Comey's motion on the ground that Halligan was not properly appointed has dismissed the indictment without prejudice.

So Judge Smith plainly prefers to sound like a wild MAGA partisan than to sound like a racist (not to speak of being a highly personal attack on District Judge Brown - the sort of thing we used to see on the 6th Circuit and Pennsylvania Supreme Court)

The Guardian reports, based on statements by Washington National Opera artistic director Francesca Zambello, that WNO is looking for alternate venues because so many fans (like me) refuse to come to Trump's KenCen.
Official denial: WNO "has no plans" for such a move

Courage in Chicago
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Thanks to Cormac (who won this case), and to Karla & Steph who came to Public Citizen Litigation Group as refugees from the Trump Admin. Plus Adam & Nandan, refugee from Trump I, and Mike, refugee from George W. All in the forefront against Trump's depredations

I am honored to be their colleague.
LAWSUIT WIN: A federal court ruled that the Trump admin violated the 1st Amendment by putting partisan messaging in employees’ out-of-office replies during the govt shutdown.

It's simple: civil servants work for the people, not the president's political agenda.

An unsung aspect of today's Public Citizen win in the partisan out-of-office email message case: the lawyer who won this left DoJ after Bondi took over. In fact, several new colleagues joined us to avoid doing evil as govt lawyers in the Trump Admin. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Armed thuggery
NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)
