A victory for the Cuban people and the Cuba solidarity movement! The Biden admin has taken the long overdue step of removing #Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terror list.

NYC, you did it.

Not only have we handily qualified for public matching funds but our $642,339 haul from 6,502 donors are the most of any campaign.

That means we'll have $3+ million to share our vision for a more affordable city.

I am profoundly grateful.

Look I don't trust Trump at all, especially on Palestine. He's evil.

But Joe Biden spent a year and a half helping the fascist regime of Benjamin Netanyahu do genocide against a population of mostly children.

And if he hadn't, Donald Trump wouldn't be able to get credit for a ceasefire deal.

The hip line is Netanyahu is spiting Biden by agreeing to a ceasefire as Trump comes into office. What’s important to understand is that this theory makes no sense. All reporting from Israel indicates Trump forced the issue (likely to spite Biden), what Netanyahu wants is, again, wholly irrelevant

Why Hasn't the NPC Changed DSA's Electoral Strategy?
To build a genuine party with a mass constituency, we will need to invest in learning from and replicating our successes, not bringing them to a halt while hoping without evidence that another strateg...

The 2023 DSA convention was meant to be a turning point in DSA's electoral strategy. But most of the way through their term, every NPC member still supports endorsing candidates on the Democratic line, and no real steps toward a 3rd-party strategy are being taken. I wrote about this disconnect:

Hey it's the Iraq war lady!
People are often surprised when I tell them this: both Twitter and Facebook/insta/threads are now specifically engineered to downgrade, hide, suppress real journalism. If this platform is different, that's a huge change
Traffic from Bluesky to @bostonglobe.com is already 3x that of Threads, and we are seeing 4.5x the conversions to paying digital subscribers.

In 2018 Dems elected the largest class to Congress since Watergate, ~60 seats.

A lot of it was, yes, Trump backlash. But the winners also had another thing in common, despite a wide range of differences: most rejected corporate PAC money.

It’s a hugely compelling factor to voters & underdiscussed
I think the Dems need to field gruff corruption busters at all levels whose primary campaign response to culture war issues is “All Americans should enjoy the freedom and bounty of this great country. That won’t be possible so long as venal men impoverish you and loot the country of your wealth”

As he stepped out of the Oval Office into the Rose Garden on a sunny November day in the winter of his presidency to hail the Lebanon ceasefire, Biden clearly had grander ambitions still in mind. “It reminds us that peace is possible,” he said. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/26/w...

Agree with the "strangers knocking and endless texts" being ineffective.

But I think this still overestimates the Republican ground game success. They only went from 74 to 76 million in 2020vs2024.

The important takaway imo is that good ground game is much more important for Dems specifically.

In the coming years, we will realize more and more how deeply involved the US is in this genocide- as well as the reality of how many Americans have been on the ground fighting directly.

Pretending that this isn't Biden's genocide is either insanity or willful ignorance.
