Ok. It’s an objectionable tactic but I think it’s important to state the precise objection. If it’s the privacy violation, that’s one thing, but if it’s extraction, it raises the question, what are fair ways to discover price? What level of extraction is acceptable?

Why you pay so much depends on where you’re going to school. If you go to a public institution, like 80% of US undergrads, you pay so much because conservatives have stripped state funding away over the past 40 years. If you’re at a private institution, you’re just getting ripped off.

the balance hasn't remained constant, but people have long wrongly seen the NYT as a liberal publication that feels the need to bend over backwards for conservatives to fight bias charges, when in fact it's a conservative publication aimed at convincing liberals. they're more open about that now

It’s fine just to claim the mantle of liberalism. There’s no need to distinguish yourself from liberalism, but it is necessary to be distinguished from *conservative* ideology. For example, Fetterman is “illiberal” in the sense that he’s conservative.
