i use they/he professionally (and on here for consistency) (my in-person pronouns are different) and let's be clear this is entirely because i want people to use they but don't want them to make a deal out of it if they don't want to for some reason (i work with a lot of very religious countries)
fun fact in new zealand if you live with someone for three years you're considered de facto married except it's not called marriage

there's no application and no fee. it just happens.
I want to ban marriage as an institution. Ceremonies should be allowed but there should be no benefits over other relationships and living styles for monogamous couples over everyone else

Ideally this would happen in socialism where private property isn’t a thing so that doesn’t matter either
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

One of my past jobs was a "multi million dollar business". What that generally means is you have 5-10 million in gross revenue. The profit margin was on the order of 3%. 300k profit per year. That's a business that does modestly well. Can afford to redo the office once a decade.

harshness of blocks scale:

1. twitter etc — cheap and plentiful
2. bluesky — erases the entire interaction for everyone
3. phone number — scammers and bad exes
4. discord — i'm willing to compromise my own UX to not see your stupid face

Finally with AI we have invented a way to productively poop on company time.

X: why doesn't this work?
dracut dev: you need to add the "force" option
X: ...it worked, but why
d: nobody knows. someone did it that way a long time ago and never wrote down why.

THEN FIX IT GODDAMN FUCKERS

6. Cherry-picking while communicating to leave out context.

In conclusion: they're incompetent, seemingly despise their own users, do not care about any context and are willing to be deceptive about moderation decisions.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bluesky has succeeded in doing the worst possible thing at every step:

1. Being a month late on moderation
2. Misunderstanding a post completely
3. Putting draconian measures on the author and the community (making posts inaccessible)
4. Not communicating
5. Eventually communicating with wrong info

Sometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.

god I hate to rain on peoples' parades but NZF haven't withdrawn their horrible transphobic bill -- the MP who proposed it (Jenny Marcroft) withdrew it but then a different NZF MP (David Wilson) immediately proposed an identical bill

Reminder!!

Bluesky has a pronoun labeler you should really use!

Only those who subscribe to this will see it so you should do that. Don't worry, that's all it does.
Instructions are in the bio/first post.

Wow it defaults to hiding quite a few things. Many probably for the best, but for now I'm switching most to warn (and I remain willing to see rude posts - I follow @dimsie.bsky.social after all)
If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

I'm convinced there must be a lot more people we don't and won't know about because they don't do stupid shit like using their work computer within a highly monitored network to look up porn on google.
