DOJ has sued Maine, Oregon, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Washington, Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont for access to its most sensitive voter data.

My firm has moved to intervene in 10 of those cases. We are working on the last 4.

Panama Red's Corollary: At some point, competence becomes an ethical issue.

Well we have corollary:

Only criminals attack the innocent. ICE agents abusing power should be arrested, and so should the man who gave them their orders.

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed seven straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

Like we were saying in 2015. (This is directed at MSM journalists generally and not at Maggie personally.)
When a President threatens people,to get his own way, then he is not a President. He is behaving like a mob boss.

Abolish ICE and salt the ground underneath it so that nothing else ever grows there.
Just a reminder that ICE didn't exist until 2002. It's not some longstanding institution that must be maintained. It was created as a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11, and it could be gotten rid of as easily as it was created.

In AP English in 1977-78, I had to read more than a book a month from a list of classics and write a book report about every one I read.
In American high schools, many teenagers are assigned few full books to read from beginning to end — often just one or two per year, according to researchers and thousands of responses to an informal reader survey by The New York Times. trib.al/gNp7kWK

Everyone needs to listen to Gustav Holst's "The Planets", not for hoity-toity nerd reasons, but because every epic sci-fi movie OST for the past century has been directly lifting shit from this one specific collection of pieces, and you deserve to hear your favourite motif in its native environment.

Because if they acknowledged the reality, they'd have to act on it, and if they act on it, Mango Mussolini would say bad things about them.
Why does the corporate media pretend that the GOP is a legitimate political Party with realistic plans to solve problems?

Oh, we know. And a lot of us know and understand that it will take a TON of work to win back your trust.
I get the impression that Americans believe they can just elect a president who is a tad less crazy than this one and everyone will be friends with the US again. I don´t think that will happen. The US will not recover from this anytime soon. A fair share of Europeans see you as enemies now.

Not only does Trump lack the legal power to do this, but trying to do it would be (yet another) impeachable offense under the Take Care (" ... that the Laws be faithfully executed ...") Clause of Article II, Sec. 3 of the Constitution.
The US government is now a mafia organization.

They need to be arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned.
Why does ICE wear vests that say, "POLICE?"

They are not a law enforcement agency. They are upholding no law.

They are a gov't funded private militia charged with instituting the GOP/Heritage Society's vision of a white nationalist state.

They need to be stopped.

He's right. Not only has SCOTUS overturned pretty much every campaign-finance law ever enacted at the federal level, it also has made it practically impossible for DOJ to prosecute corruption cases against public officials successfully. The Menendez case was a rare, high-profile exception.
Whitehouse: Not only were the founders extremely interested in checks and balances but they were desperately concerned about corruption.

This Court has consistently taken the side of corruption against every device Congress has created to fight political corruption.
