I don't mind being approached and interacting with someone, but it *better* be fucking reciprocal and without antagonism. It feels awful to avoid conversations with others, but at this point, they often feel like traps set by people who love the sound of their own voice too goddamn much.

I'll fully admit I'm sensitive about the topic because, offline, I've often been treated like a listening post for other people - I'd literally just have those I don't know bloviate *at* me about something *without* asking if I'd be interested to hear it - and it's even *more* intolerable online.

There's something I wish more people did online: if you get the urge to state your opinion, especially to someone else, take a step back and ask a simple question - "Do I *need* to say it?" and "Is this the right person to *tell* it to?"

I've learned that, when it comes to rehabilitating a person's image, it comes from an inability to accept the thing they've done *deserves* consequences. Whether it's fans or friends, they can't separate a creative person from their work and delude themselves into thinking they aren't bad people.
I'm flummoxed by the underground movement to rehab cancelled figures. There's a rumor that a studio head is planning to begin bringing cancelled people back. It's bananas. The industry has contracted, leaving writers, directors and actors scrambling for work and we're making space for sex criminals?
