Animals with misleading names. I'm seeing this go around as part of a viral tumblr thread so I thought I'd reshare it.

Because the issue of population change is so widely misunderstood, here's a short thread which seeks to lay it out simply.
It explains why there is almost nothing anyone can do to change the global population trajectory, both as numbers rise, then as they fall.

As we move into the season of excess, I love Millay’s quiet and smiling refusal at restraint.

At first glance, the poem seems almost flippant but beneath the surface is provocative tone.

Much like Jack London’s thought ‘I would rather be ashes than dust…’

There's a new Tomeka Reid Quartet (w/Mary Halvorson, Jason Roebke & Tomas Fujiwara) album coming in February, and the first "single" RULES. I swear, Halvorson's guitar sounds like a clavinet on this.

Look, you can say what you like about Die Hard, but I think we can all agree it has the best ending on any Christmas film, Hans down.

My small drawings from the music I listened to this week.

I think Low’s album ‘Trust’ (the hand with the red background) was my favourite to draw this time.
