I hope it isn't true but if it is, Rob Reiner was a truly great actor and director. He provided so much joy from All in the Family to When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, Spinal Tap. There are just too many to list.

Love the humor and facts in this thread above and beyond the resistance to the fascists.
Colorado is not intimidated by Trump because Colorado Democrats already had years of practice dealing with fascists before he ever put a red hat on

no geriatric dementia patient is gonna scare people who first ran for office when James Dobson was alive and Rocky Mountain Gun Owners was active
NEW: Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser (D) says Colorado will not release Tina Peters after President Trump announced he is pardoning her state-level convictions.

"This is a lawless act. It's an act of intimidation," Weiser said. "It has no basis in the American law."

This article and others linked within it articulate exactly how I feel about the Times. It has lost its way, it is unwilling to defend our democracy and unwilling to call out Trump for the criminal enterprise that it is.

We've lost the Post and we've lost the Times. No wonder we're lost.
The NYT's top editor did an "interview" with a staff sycophant and the result was an embarrassment to him and his organization. Press critic Dan Froomkin explains why:

Yup, this is the truth.
The November election was the final battle of World Information War I. America lost (after barely defending ourselves) to a coalition of oligarchs, neo-confederates, and neo-nazis, and is now under a malevolent occupation government. This is the framing with the most explanatory power.

Two genocides happening at once. Terrible.
The 1948 UN Genocide Convention identifies “forcibly transferring children of the group to another group” as one of five recognised acts of genocide. Based on the UN’s own definition, Russia’s mass abduction and indoctrination of Ukrainian children is a textbook case of genocide

If socialism is a system that protects the 99% and provides opportunity for all, then all Democrats should be socialists. If socialism is the policies of FDR and HST, then all Democrats should be socialists.

Instead they condemned it. And, of course, H Jeffries doesn't get it.

Ds need new leaders.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
