Done with #adventofcode 😃 Thanks @was.tl 👏

Programming with different languages -- #Clojure, #Crystal, #Elixir, #Rust, #Scala -- was easy 😀 except for the naming problem, e.g., scan vs accumulate (Crystal), filter vs select (Crystal), and_then (Rust) vs flatmap 🤨

Not reporting security bugs can harm users. That said, if companies care about the users of an app, then they could fund fixing these bugs, fix the bugs (using AI used to find the bug), or provide an alternative app.

Interesting clash b/w ML-based #security & #OSS.

The question now is whether AI’s real productivity gains will ultimately justify today’s valuations, as the internet, after a painful correction"

I think reproducible proof of vulnerability should be a basic requirement for vulnerability reports. Wherever possible, require an executable proof along with descriptive proof.

Schrodinger's sandwich, a real world phenomenon and not a thought experiment 😜 🤦 Can we please get back to things that matter?
Defense begins, “This case, ladies and gentlemen, is about a sandwich. A sandwich that according to Agent Lairmore somehow both exploded on his chest in a spray of mustard and onions but also landed intact on the ground still in its Subway wrapper.”

If Hollywood ever spoofs the #movie "A Few Good Men", these closing remarks (see the next post in the thread) should be in it 🤣🤣

How will #AI coding agent companies improve their agents if/when 1) every relevant #oss project switches to some form of closed source (e.g., authorized access to source) and 2) companies heavily rely on "AI" coding agents to write code?

I miss speakers who would speak fluently (albeit slowly) without heavily leaning on fillers like "you know", "and stuff", "okay", etc. Using pauses while speaking seems to be a lost art (as is waiting one's turn to respond).

arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.

This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.

Yet another open submission process killed by LLMs.
