The fact that police facial recognition technology has been put on our streets and expanded repeatedly over nearly ten years - by two Governments - without a single piece of specific legislation being voted on by MPs is utterly outrageous and sinister.

It will not drive productivity, it will cost jobs, it will destroy our environmental credibility and it will make the wealthy even wealthier, deepening inequality.
