I've never liked the word authentic—or classic, or traditional—because I feel like, you know, every household, they have their own definition. And I asked somebody, I said how do you define classic? He's all, you know, my mother does this and my mother does that. I said I'm not your mother, for one thing. And I said your mother may be doing something a particular way that for her it's been passed down from generation to generation, but I said somebody else's mother will feel the same way, so I said you can't sit there putting the other mother down. So, like, your mother is the shiniest of the bunch? And especially when you try to define curry, I say it's like trying to pick up liquid off the floor. It ain't happening! It's slippery, it's slithery, you just can't get a grasp on it.

so apparently in (American) football the word "down" has 3 distinct meanings and it took me over an hour of pelting @tkfocht.bsky.social with questions to figure that out XD is it hockey yet

Universalstandard has buttonup shirts that look like blouses but are made of jersey so they don't gape If you want nonstretch material that doesn't gape you need to be a b cup or smaller, or make your own You could also get an oversized shirt that fits over your head & sew the button band closed most of the way Sorry that's not super helpful but basically that's an age old problem with few non-custom solutions

When the music started at this aforementioned party, I wondered how seriously anyone would take a recommendation to mask. At first it was just the usual suspects. Me, my disabled friends, a couple Covid realist trans girls I know, a few of my best friends who have made some lifestyle adjustments since I've had "the talk" with them. Within the first hour of the party I noticed a significant upswing in the numbers of people masking. Suddenly the entire front few rows were masked up, many wearing the white KN95s with the metal clasp that the organizers had provided. People were choosing in that moment to mask up because it had been modeled for them. Covid is contagious, but so is compassion.
