I still have all of them too. These are all about 20 years old give or take.

My assumption is that it'll be Grace is scary campaign, Leon is action campaign, but it'd be amazing if it was more along the lines of RE8 yeah. I think a moment of Jill/Chris chucking the rocket launcher out of a helicopter to Grace, "passing the torch", would be fantastic.

One More Soul to the Call does the same thing, you can very clearly trace a pattern of each character -- damage done to the flesh (Alessa/Cheryl), damage done to my heart (James), damage done to my soul (Alessa/Cheryl), damage done to my life (Henry). So good.

I love how the lyrics to this song echo the first three games -- the first is Harry, the second is James, and the third is Heather. Such good shit. The songs in this series are just bangers every single last one of them.

Yeah I was always lukewarm on the original Carlos, he was just a guy, but remake Carlos is *fantastic*, both the writing and the performance. Don’t leave us in a cold, cruel, Carlos-less world, Capcom 😭

Something along like the group therapy scene in Saw 7, where it’s a gathering of survivors made up of both characters we’ve never seen before, and some we have from the other films like Saw 5 and 6. Just a very subtle thing that’s really cool if you’ve been marathoning them. youtu.be/mMp1lQbTZAE?...

So based on what they’ve shown, it looks about as different from SH2 as the first film was from SH1. The bones of the story are there (ie James has gone to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from Mary) but some character’s roles (like Eddie) in the story might be dramatically different.

Yeah, the budget seems like it’s *really* low, which is a shame. Guess it’ll just need more imagination power this time haha

Yep. It’s straight up a bait and switch. Front loading the first hour with more or less traditional if simplified RE gameplay and then hit you in the face with some generic Facebook game grindathon shit.

I think the translation might be a bit fucked up. Maybe even AI honestly. Dialogue is generally very stilted and lacks personality. Lots of confusing moments where characters seem to answer their own questions or repeat things too.

Like the second movie is definitely still not a great adaption, but between the three I don’t think it’s unfair to say that it’s the closest adaption that’s been done so far and it’s just *so* much worse than that first film in every respect.
November 21, 2025 at 6:32 AM
Yeah, I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’m not bothered as long as the film is enjoyable. I’ll take a good movie (like the first SH movie imo) that’s a bad adaption, over a bad movie but objectively a closer adaption (like the second film).
