5.I had the opportunity to intro @educatorsforpeace.bsky.social and our upcoming webinars to help them engage with difficult conversations in the classroom. We'll be launching our new resource #DaysAfterPedagogy abt the rising of flags & hear from @markrpriestley.bsky.social abt curricula justice.

4. @sathnam.bsky.social also spoke about how #migration & #Empire are central to so much in society. Not just through people but through our day to day lives & the things we take for granted. He cited links for instance through food/plants which he's written abt in his other great book, Empireworld.

3/Teachers must also start from actually acknowledging that problems exist, before engaging in meaningful dialogue & pedagogy. This is exactly the work we seek to build through @educatorsforpeace.bsky.social 👇🏽

2/Sathnam spoke about we shouldn't teach empire based on what was good/bad, as it's a complex issue that impacted in different ways on different people. We need to teach evaluative & critical thinking methods of engaging with such historical issues.
