I'm almost despondent over what is happening to the state university system in Texas. Just a few years ago I was confident it would play a big role in my kid's education; now it looks like I will discourage it, likely at great cost.
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

I got my booster in September and then got covid in October. Really mild symptoms; I missed one day of work and managed not to give it to my family.

All due respect to the fine employees of the USPS, but the fact that the rollover process for retirement accounts frequently involves sending physical checks by mail is more than a little dismaying.
