@ntherrgott.bsky.social
apparently i’m intolerable.
There are only two possibilities on the inside of the box; the dead cat or the breathing one. Seems like an interaction between two sets of realities: two on the inside, and fractally repeating exterior with so many cats in so many boxes.

I just gad a conversation with myself for about 20 minute seconds where I said: "Wow... they made the internet suck..." to myself, whilst all of myself agrees uniformly in the shocked realization that this was, in fact, true.

You can't trust white history because the Holy Roman Empire, was neither Roman, was certainly not holy, and also wasn't really that much of an empire either...

I want to watch House of Cards again for Robin Wright.

One thing I really like about modern classical music is that it seems very invested in revisiting and incorporating components of folk music and applying it to compositional theory, but also modern pop styles.

I think the word is out by now: it's ethically impossible to live in the world today. Industry has propped us upon a lifestyle that requires industry to function. Is it any surprise that so many millennials see the solution to this to exist as little as possible?

Okay, don't lie.... There *is* part of you that's a little bit sad that you didn't make it into the 28 Club, isn't there?

Part of me DOES empathize with the "AI-Artist" crew.

Society has devalued art in lieu of commodified hustle. Or, as a symbol of status for having the ABILITY to be relaxed to the point of creative flow due to comfortable finances and available time. I see that as the bigger problem.

Okay but seriously? Rothbart? I aways liked what he had going on. I got his thing. I got why he was absolutely miserable about these people and their *problems* for no reason. Honestly.

Diva.

The objectively better game show format would have been: "Are You More Emotionally Regulated Than a 5th Grader."

Waiting on the cultural yaasificaiton of Van Gogh were he is re-developed into a figure who committed himself to paint out of staunch defiance to sensibilities of the day, and not someone who would, on the wrong day, would internalize a someone's RBF to indicate his worthlessness.

I think one of our next big hurdles as a society is to recognize the difference between people who are fragile from people who are just dramatic.

Giving people art they want will only ever—at best—satisfy them.
It will never inspire them.

That is what AI will never be built to understand.
Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

I think the reason my atheist stint was only about a few years in my late teens and early 20s is because I just lost interest in it. There's nothing intellectually stimulating about it, as much as, at the time, people who self-described as atheist did so to project intelligence.

Following the separation from J, I was told it takes about two years to *begin* recover from complex trauma when separated from its source. Meanwhile, the last two years have been a matter of realizing that things are much worse than what I had convinced myself it wasn't as bad as I knew it was.

Shut up about 2026. It’s just a date that alledgedly marks an occasion for us all to prepare ourselves to feel shitty.

2026 doesn’t exist. The world doesn’t revolve around the Gregorian calendar, and I don’t care to hear how it’s gonna be different or the same. Make some art. Dates don’t matter.

Of course it's artists who value conviction over income.

CW: suicide.

The point of societal empathy is silly to me. We abhor suicide—but what for? We claim it's because we do not want to see suffering. And yet we're in a condition where things are only going to get worse, and we are told we need to accept that.

What's funny about industrialism is that we are implored to give credit and thanks to it for things like penicillin and indoor plumbing, as if it could never happen under any other ideology.

And yet the aqueducts in England could yet outlast everything built in the last 200 years.

This is sudden as fuck. And also the kind of reaction that I haven’t yet seen in artistic awards…

But also very sad because though I haven’t played it, this game seems very beloved.
