Work on a new lithium extraction site in southern Germany got underway at the end of last week. Company Vulcan Energy celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony for a combined geothermal and lithium extraction plant (G-LEP) in Landau in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Australian-German company aims to filter lithium chloride from geothermal sources, which can also be used to produce electricity and heat.

Mooie cijfers, maar laten we eerlijk blijven: een deel van die daling is verplaatst, niet verdwenen. Voor strategische autonomie moeten we cruciale industriële ketens juist behouden of zelfs terughalen. #groeneindustriepolitiek #geopolitiek
Afgelopen 15 jaar is de broeikasgasemissie door EU27 met ongeveer 25% gedaald.
Belangrijkste redenen: groei hernieuwbaar, sluiting kolencentrales, energiebesparing en offshoring industriële productie.
