no subtitles, but i showed it to a somali speaker and she confirmed that is what they're saying. and apparently it's quite strong language, they're like "this is a shame, this is not democracy!"

Or Frey's campaign tactic of telling elderly Somali voters that because Omar Fateh lost the DFL endorsement, that meant he was removed from the ballot and so they would have no choice but to vote for Frey.

Feels like the story would have benefit from how Frey + his PACs spent millions blanketing Minneapolis in racist, anti-Somali smears on Omar Fateh and how their fueling of a the "Somali=fraud" narrative resulted in Trump's recent attacks on the Somali community.

DOGE is down to about 45 employees, but others have burrowed their way into government agencies as full time employees. Some are helping Vought's efforts to downsize the government. Others are implementing private AI across government.

I genuinely don't understand how people don't see (remember?) the damage the Bush administration and co. did. Increasingly feels like the only problem they saw is that he was embarrassing.

So there’s no path to citizenship…I think if people knew how systemically broken our immigration system is, maybe they wouldnt go on and on about emigrating “the right way.” I’m a lawyer and immigration law terrifies me. That says a lot.

Always happy to explain. None have citizenship (if they're citizens, they wouldn't need protected status). Some people (but not all) that have TPS may potentially have other paths to residence, but many will not. After TPS expires, people generally become undocumented.
Now I feel ignorant not knowing TPS for somalis is expiring. You may not know this, but of 700 on tps do we know how many have citizenship or another basis for residence? (And thank you for the context!)

For additional information, right now only around 700 Somalians in the entire country have TPS. Total.
