What we learned/confirmed yesterday: TEP customers are paying for the power that TEP will supply to Beale. Beale doesn’t have a customer lined up, so if they build this thing it will be empty. Beale will need backup power, and this may come from diesel, which is polluting and harmful.

Pima County! Here are three opportunities for civic engagement with your elected officials this week: Tuesday 12/2 at 9am: Pima County Board of Supervisors. Then at 6pm: Marana town council. Wednesday 12/3 at 9am: ACC meeting in Phoenix!

Tucson’s city attorney has filed a request to intervene at the Arizona Corporation Commission to protect TEP customers. We’ll be at the ACC meeting Wednesday morning to tell them to vote no on the deal. We’ll also be at the Pima County Board of Supervisors to tell them we expect them to act too.

Update on the last two weeks of data center BS in Pima County: Beale wants the land for Christmas, the ACC gives us two weeks warning before voting on the TEP/Beale energy service agreement, Marana announces public hearings for land twice the size of Project Blue for data centers. Happy holidays!!
