No Desert Data Center Coalition
@nodesertdatacenter.com
We're fighting to stop the development of a heat-generating, water-guzzling, energy-draining hyperscale data center in the Sonoran Desert! We're a leaderful coalition of people based in Southern Arizona. Join us! https://tinyurl.com/nddcjoinus
What we learned/confirmed yesterday: TEP customers are paying for the power that TEP will supply to Beale. Beale doesn’t have a customer lined up, so if they build this thing it will be empty. Beale will need backup power, and this may come from diesel, which is polluting and harmful.

TEP is scrambling to figure out their answers to great questions from the commissioners.

Hilariously, TEP mentioned in their intro that this project was vetted in several public hearings. Yeah, they looked like this. Then our city council voted no.

You should know who’s on the Arizona Corporation Commission! They have the power to say NO to TEP and shut down Project Blue, but they won’t unless we pressure them.

Also: everyone deserves A/C in the summer heat, Nick. Do better, because 2026 is approaching fast 👀

Pima County! Here are three opportunities for civic engagement with your elected officials this week: Tuesday 12/2 at 9am: Pima County Board of Supervisors. Then at 6pm: Marana town council. Wednesday 12/3 at 9am: ACC meeting in Phoenix!
December 2, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Tucson’s city attorney has filed a request to intervene at the Arizona Corporation Commission to protect TEP customers. We’ll be at the ACC meeting Wednesday morning to tell them to vote no on the deal. We’ll also be at the Pima County Board of Supervisors to tell them we expect them to act too.

Arizona! Join us in Phoenix next Wed. at 9am for the ACC meeting. You can sign up to speak in-person (or remotely if you can't make it), or submit a statement if you don't want to speak: efiling.azcc.gov/online-servi... No to Project Blue, no to APS rate hikes and commitment to fossil fuels!

Update on the last two weeks of data center BS in Pima County: Beale wants the land for Christmas, the ACC gives us two weeks warning before voting on the TEP/Beale energy service agreement, Marana announces public hearings for land twice the size of Project Blue for data centers. Happy holidays!!

Yesterday, our movement mobilized on short notice to protest TEP, the Canadian-owned for-profit energy monopoly that’s been making our electric bills a nightmare. They’re poised to supply power to Project Blue, but we’re in their way and not backing down.

Come get help with your ACC comments! We'll be on site at revolutionary grounds from 2:30-4:30 tomorrow (Wednesday 11/26) to help. We have talking points, suggestions and templates, and the links all ready to go!! Swing by to get some help, have company, or ask any questions!

Our privately owned electric utility, TEP, and a developer, Beale Infrastructure, disregarded overwhelming community opposition for a proposed hyperscale data center east of Tucson. TEP has a proposal with the Arizona Corporation Commission that they'll vote on next week. Here's what you can do.

Mañana, vamos a la reunion del Arizona Corporation Commission.

We’re not backing down. We’re taking this fight to the Arizona Corporation Commission this Wednesday.
