What we learned/confirmed yesterday: TEP customers are paying for the power that TEP will supply to Beale. Beale doesn’t have a customer lined up, so if they build this thing it will be empty. Beale will need backup power, and this may come from diesel, which is polluting and harmful.

Hi! The land sale hasn’t yet closed, and there’s still work to do after that. There are two proposed sites in Marana that in total double the size of Project Blue. We also have to hold everyone accountable who continue to push these projects despite overwhelming community opposition.

We’ve heard that Amazon and Meta pulled out of this project in part because of community opposition. That’s huge! We are so, so, proud of how all of us have showed up since summer. Thank you so much to all of you, our beloved community, for understanding what’s at stake and fighting back!!

The ACC voted yes. We’re pretty gutted. Making our way back to Tucson. Much love to you all and more later.

Beale just acknowledged that backup power might be DIESEL

TEP said if the data center doesn’t work out, there’s always other industry like mining.

Commissioner Walden: Are you willing to renegotiate this contract?

TEP: Lots of words that aren’t yes or no.

TEP is scrambling to figure out their answers to great questions from the commissioners.

It’s time for commissioner questions! What will TEP’s story be for them? So far it seems to be 🤷

TEP has a different story for everyone. What’s real, and will we find out before it’s too late??

We need a holistic approach to large energy and water users with goals and limits before saying yes to projects one by one.

Beale has zero experience building and running data centers like this.

Hilariously, TEP mentioned in their intro that this project was vetted in several public hearings. Yeah, they looked like this. Then our city council voted no.

What you’re hearing is Tucson and Pima County residents speaking from the heart about why this data center is a terrible deal for us. It’s 3:50pm. We’ve waited since 9am to speak.
