He avoids showing it off or broadcasting that he figured it out for fear of putting a target on his own back.

Being a first-of-its-kind piece of vehicular technology, Baxin treats every minute of air travel throughout the whole adventure as the data-gathering phase for the airship experiment. That said, he's not overly clinical about it; to him and his friends, it's like a floating second home.
