For the snippet including "dead/die/dying", here's my wiki article on scatterance, the "instantly-kill-any-living-thing" spell:

Oh boy oh boy! Violet's mothers, Baxin's grandfather, and the twins' uncle are all presumed dead after a [REDACTED CATACLYSMIC EVENT] a decade ago, as well as someone from Jane's coven whom she admired. Baxin's parent also died in the line of duty when he was quite young.

Gah! This one is such an interesting prompt but alas I once again haven't thought of it much. It varies by religion and culture, but death is generally seen as natural, inevitable, and a way of returning energy to the world. People still mourn, of course. Burials are rarer.

The theme of the week may be marriages, but the kind of bond I've actually got some details fleshed out on is the bond between a witch and their familiar, so that's the snippet you get!

Pretty much a follow-on to day 10, and the only example of the word "gesture" I could find in my organizational wiki

typical options range from free local post to expensive cross-continent couriers. but, iff you have an in, the best option is going to be the Exchange—think Grand Budapest Hotel's Society of Crossed Keys, Incan chaskis, flag semaphore, smoke signals, and structured P2P networks.

well, time to reveal just how insane i can be about inventing fictional etymologies for actual words. None of this is quite set in stone yet, but I did manage to pull the terms ethics, ethnic, clique, eclectic, ecclesiastic, gala, and gallant out of a single ancient term. neat!

Ooh! An excuse to post script concepts! I keep accidentally developing alphabets and LTR scripts, but in fairness some of these are related to Modern (i.e. Latin) script, so it would make sense for them to be.

I don't write much in terms of actual plot -- but I do have this snippet from my wiki explaining how an ancient word led to some terms in Modern. Modern is just English, but obviously can't have the same history, so I come up with alternate etymologies like these all the time.

I'm nonbinary and hate the terms "nibling" and "pibling" so naturally Modern has words to replace them. I also wholesale stole the term "grep" from Unix and mutated it because modern computers haven't been developed yet (late 1800s tech level). Have some phrases, too.
