This is tremendous. Take the time to watch it.
Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

something that always makes me cry instantly: singing at protests.
In the #TwinCities #Minneapolis and #StPaul, protesters sing outside hotels that house ICE & Border Patrol:

"It's okay to change your mind. Show us your courage. Leave this behind. It's okay to change your mind. And you can join us, you can join us anytime."

There's been absolutely no public hearing on this bill, no chance for D.C. residents to weigh in on whether it should be left to their elected officials to determine tax policy or unaccountable members of Congress. (The bill was quietly introduced on January 22.)
It looks like the House is indeed voting on H.J. Res. 142 next week, which would nullify the "D.C. Income and Franchise Tax Conformity and Revision Temporary Amendment Act of 2025," costing the District government *$224 million* in the current FY 2026...

Congressional Republicans, who barred D.C. from spending $1B of its own revenue in its 2025 budget, are moving to block another D.C. law. This action poses risks to D.C.'s public services & credit rating & could create filing chaos as tax season begins. www.cbpp.org/blog/congres...
Congress Must Allow D.C. to Spend Its Own Local Dollars
Congressional Republicans, who last year barred the District of Columbia from spending $1 billion of its own revenue in its 2025 budget, are now moving to block another DC law.

Not one Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee should vote yes on this effort to overturn a local DC law. 10 states made the same choice to decouple from tax cuts in the OBBA--only DC gets its law overturned because we don't have the same rights as other Americans.
🚨 Urgent action alert! 🚨

Congress wants to undo local legislation and cost DC $700 million in local revenue, and overturn our efforts to cut child poverty. Call these Senators and tell them to VOTE NO ON S.J.RES.102. Check out the last slide for a script you can use!

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

this administration’s obsession with pull-ups as a demonstration of masculinity is as pathetic as it is hilarious
Duffy: "My daughter pointed out a video from Dr. Paul Saladino where he was complaining that there are no pull up bars in airports, which prompted me to call Sec. Kennedy to give me Paul's number to start the conversation."

Such a perfect example of what we all give up when we refuse to address basic inequalities. I don't want to live in a country where all the public space is militarized to keep hungry people from stealing food, just give them money to buy food!
