This is unacceptable! Vulnerable people being targeted & extorted over social media. This is exactly why we recently amended the Intimate Images Protection Act, to ensure that people, especially young people, can reach out for support & get justice when someone threatens to share an intimate image.

Proud to say that we are continuing our work towards disability justice by removing the spousal cap for couples where both partners are on PWD. As of December 1st, couples will receive the same disability benefit as two single individuals. This change will benefit thousands of households across BC.
Barriers removed for couples in B.C. receiving disability assistance
Starting Dec. 1, 2025, couples where both members receive disability assistance will receive the same support allowance as they would if they were two single people.

How exciting! With the opening of the new Indigenous law wing at the @uvic.ca students, facility, and community members can engage in dialogue around #Indigenous history and law, and expand their understanding of trauma-informed legal practice.
New Indigenous law wing supports learning Indigenous legal traditions
Students at the University of Victoria (UVic) law school now have a dedicated space to learn Indigenous laws and legal traditions with the opening of the new Indigenous law wing.

At 1:55 p.m. this Wednesday, November 19 - a test of the BC Emergency Alert system will take place. You'll hear the alert tone and receive a message on your phone, TV or radio.

Testing makes sure the alert system is working in case of an actual emergency.

Just renewed my #ICBC car insurance for a year, cost me all of $1477. That's $80 cheaper than last year, which was cheaper than the year before. Public auto insurance is a wonderful thing! Here's the 10-yr change in auto insurance costs by province from StatsCan. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

Appreciate getting to spend time with our team at the Burnaby DLO today! This space makes it easy for people to get new IDs & license renewals done, while also providing accessible services for those taking a driving test. Grateful for @theicbc.bsky.social’s work to keep everyone safe on our roads.

Unacceptable! X is fighting a BC order to remove a non-consensual intimate image, instead of doing the right thing & removing the image. These harmful images have no place online, anywhere, ever. We’re joining the case to defend BC’s laws & ensure survivors receive real protection, not half measures

Today, we honour generations of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples who have served with courage.

From the War of 1812 to Afghanistan, Indigenous veterans shaped Canada’s military history—yet many returned to discrimination.

Lest we forget.

Three people tied to violent extortion have been removed from Canada. Offenders will be pursued, arrested, charged, and may be deported.
Thanks to CBSA, RCMP, CFSEU, & local police in the B.C. Extortion Task Force.
We won't stop until these criminals are brought to justice.

The Early Resolution Process is now available at Provincial Courts in North Vancouver, Pemberton, Richmond, Sechelt, & Vancouver Robson Square. This service helps families resolve issues like child & spousal support without going to court, reducing conflict & putting children’s best interests first.

We’ve done this before - taking on the bad-faith actors - & we’ll continue to lead the way in protecting children & families while making corporate wrongdoers take accountability & pay for the public harms they cause

#ICYMI - we’re keeping basic auto insurance rates basic rates stable through to spring 2027. That means seven consecutive years without an increase!

On average, BC drivers are paying about $700 less than what people pay for auto insurance in Ontario, and about $440 less than what Albertans pay.
