Normally I’m pretty stoic about things too but damn if I haven’t just hit my breaking point.

The writing and talking about my novel makes helps though.

When I’m not ripping my hair out trying to make sure it’s clear when I mean “they” as in Henet and not “they” as in the group they’re with 😭🤣

Everything is good fun and as intentional as they are with their own actions, they are observant and respectful of other peoples boundaries.

Until someone demonstrates how little they care about boundaries. That person becomes free game.

Here’s a few examples from early in the book.

Oh they are very much the archetypical lazy/lounging (and constantly tipsy) academic.

They also tailor their behavior to their surrounding or their own whims to illicit reactions out of people. They’ve got a trickster streak to them.

But one thing they are not is malicious.

Dragons only count if you’re willing to face them down while you call them a lizard (ill advised at the best of times)

Roderika - Pleasant dreams about exploring the world with her friends

Tala - Pleasant dreams about wondering the city with Roderika

Arlo - Dreams about winning or losing his next tournament

Henet - Dreaming up new spells

Mary - when she dreams, nightmares all

Had me crying in my car on the way to work this morning and I’ll be damned if it also wasn’t exactly what I needed.

Oh if tomorrow is spirit day I am going to be a problem. Spirit magic is one of my three magic systems and the one my MC used. Looking forward to it!

I do not know enough about Welsh Mythology to even guess… my first thought was something to do with Dragons and that with erotica made me think Prince Lyndworm but that’s a Norwegian folk tale if I remember correctly…
