I had the same initial reaction. They mentioned on the behind the scenes podcast that they envisioned the grenade going under the truck, causing a bit of a secondary explosion. They even laid out the house (and its windows and driveway) in service to that idea.

I'm grateful for the incredible doctors at Penn Veterinary Hospital, especially the oncology team, who helped us navigate the past 3 months. And I'm glad I was able to let Carter rest at home, in his (my) bed, instead of dragging him to an unfamiliar and scary hospital.
