If My Bloody Valentine can perform at ear splitting volume and provide free earplugs, why are all the gigs I go to so quiet? I’m convinced one of the reasons why ‘chatty man at gigs’ is so prevalent is due to weak volume from the band and we can just hear them more. Drown the fuckers out.

Terrible news about the passing of Gary Mani Mounfield. The Stone Roses changed my life at the age of 18. I think this could be my favourite song of theirs, at a gig I attended when they were unstoppable. A terrific bassist and all round good guy. RIP.
