Clearly they would not appreciate it which shows the exceptionalism. Also suspect that had the suspect been, say, British, German or Australian, there wouldn’t be the same sort of collective punishment against their fellow nationals

I know I’m mentioning the blindingly obvious but not even hiding the fact that because somebody from a country allegedly did a bad thing that justifies discrimination against others from that country. Should other countries restrict/prohibit the entry of US citizens because of mass shootings?

Palatial eat in kitchen and a separate living room. Living in a flat but with the feel of a Victorian family home

I was going to add you’ve got the A40 nearby to allow a quick getaway but as you say doesn’t seem to be any parking and as new building highly unlikely you’d get a residents parking permit

Oh I have no problem with Shepherd’s Bush as such, more the living next to a four lane roundabout that was originally going to be an urban motorway. Interesting story about the origins of your name!

In the US a sandwich typically means a meal with a serving of fries on the side
November 27, 2025 at 3:03 AM
I suppose if you don’t mind being on that busy roundabout with a balcony that looks onto it in a rather ugly building, location’s great. Westfield, Shepherd’s Bush tube and overground all on your doorstep

Ask Royal Mail to do some gerrymandering so you share postcode with a rough area

Hmmm should the Health Secretary be a doctor or the Education Secretary a teacher?

They also recently doubled the ESTA fee to $40. Ironically to fund VISIT USA, the government body that promotes tourism
November 26, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Still can’t resist a wry smile when Americans are like “we need a visa to go to the UK” when they’ve been requiring visitors to do something similar since 2009. At £16 ours is rather better value than the $40 for an ESTA
November 26, 2025 at 2:48 PM
Should be able to ‘enter and reside in’ the UK after being outside it and not contributing but heaven forfend having to pay £100 to prove your right to do so. Also hypocritical as the Telegraoh wants us to be tough on immigration. Well that means things like ETAs and proving your right to enter.

Yep…same with lengthening periods until getting settlement and denying benefits to foreign nationals. I’m sure nobody gave a shit about any of these things a year ago. Just odd to see *Neil Kinnock voice* a Labour government following their vindictive obsessions

Oh I didn’t mean to suggest he was trying to game it but a timely example of somebody pleading guilty at the eleventh hour in the face of overwhelming evidence. Clearly it’s irrational as any discount will be minimal but then if he was rational he wouldn’t have done what he did.
November 26, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Is weird though how only yesterday he entered not guilty pleas despite overwhelming evidence and just as it’s about to get underway does he face up to reality.

Stephen Crabb is the last I can think of

Oh. Needless to say I have no idea why he left it so late in the day.

Do you think by it being reported now, they’ve thought “right this is all getting a bit silly” at the non-trivial prospect of Farage becoming PM?
