Also when commentators from the right-wing press are indulging in such open racism (calling an entire group a threat) the idea that an acceptable accommodation could be reached is for the birds. We would literally have to send people potentially to their deaths as that’s what they’re demanding

I’m old enough to remember when Tories were pro law and order. Even if the police did put a stop to it that was only after a risk to themselves and bystanders as well as damage to property. Not to mention those who were scared to go out or attend in case violence broke out.
