Great as always - BTW you mentioned the aircraft in the illustrations - they’re Grumman Martlets, the Fleet Air Arm version of the American Wildcat fighter. Here’s one about to take off from HMS Formidable, which took part in the operation.

Our Cartoon of the week is a series. Like JACKIE. Or COMMANDO. But on old paper.

Trust us -#NOTW always makes sense when you tune in, as we dive into the happenings in. . . Diego Suarez.

(Which, got to be honest, always sounds like some market trader doing knock-off watches.)

This week, there's all the scandal you can handle of course, but some nice stories too. Touch of 'ow's yer father, here, but WE CAN EXPLAIN.

Joking aside, there was good re-por-taaaage on feats of hardship on the home front this week.

Margaret Heywood, Cummins was disturbed by a delivery boy mid attack.

Joking aside, in this week's #NewsoftheWar we do pause for thought. Singapore missing, and more to come. Makes you think - all the stories that start in the pages of a wartime newspaper, but remain unfinished even now. linktr.ee/NewsOfTheWar
