Okay, I had to look that up to figure out what the reference was. Turns out I missed that meme because I was still in the cult at the time.

But the answer is yes.

I can confirm that it works on Linux (I'm using Proton GE) and actually, the performance has seen serious improvements. At least on my end/AMD system. And since I have a better idea of what I'm doing this time, the tutorial is going way better.

Well, time to see what works better, I guess. A vague plan or mountains of cocaine.

Oh, it's too bad that Cory Doctorow isn't on Bluesky... But having read his position on the matter, I totally understand.

I wanna see what people do with the idea above... If y'all will forgive me for mass-tagging you:

@demshenaniganss.bsky.social, @moewanders.bsky.social, @quadraticink.bsky.social, @scalzi.com (can't blame me for trying?), @annleckie.com (ditto), @drayvenblaze.bsky.social (go wild).

No doubt. That's another reason I stay the hell away from vibe coding. I'm not a proper programmer. *Could* these tools help me build some handy personal bash scripts? Probably.

Would I know if they'd rm -rf / my entire system if I put in the wrong CLI arg? No. No I would not.

I mean, "Ethically, I could never give this LLM-generated code to someone who paid me to write code." says a lot.

Unfortunately, it only speaks to those of us burdened by conscience.

of the companies that you mentioned would read it. I'm getting very tired of seeing my software get worse.

If nothing else, I'll never forgive gen AI for *actually making autocorrect more frustrating.*

Well-reasoned, thoughtful, and right on the money as far as I can tell.

Of course, that part of me that comes from the writer-designer-artist side of things is still screaming, "BURN IT ALL DOWN!" but your article painted a very informative picture.

Now if only the executives...

You clearly didn't see the dumb idea before I deleted it. Thank fuck.
