As expected, this was very scary, creepy and also heartbreaking. The birds! the woods! the beams!!! As someone who grew up in a tiny village, it hits hard.
I've been listening to a lot of podcasts abt horror books and films,and I've realized something about my relationship with them: I don't want to hear about the metaphor. I read it because I want the fiction, the myth, the thrills. I don't need reality to be brought in. I have that at home.

We are getting 2 new foster cats today, and they come with very little information, so we can't really prepare. Honestly in the past we've received cats rescued from the street that came with more background. This family has been very uncommunicative. What are they hiding?

Diving into this one today!
I'm beginning to see the shape of my reading plan for next year. I need to focus on horror(I've bought many more than I've read recently), books in Spanish(old and new), returning to the Victorians, and non-fiction(again,bought many, read almost none) including biographies.Paper books are priority.
