My son is driving down to England with me, so that my OH can stay here with the dog. The dog loathes really long car trips so I'm glad I don't have to take her. Also, it might be inadvisable to have a bored dog and a cake in the back of the car together...

Put the marzipan on my old Dad's Christmas cake this morning. In two days' time I'll do the icing, and in five days' time I'll be heading off with it in the back of the car. Cutting it fine this year!

Checked with son (who is a field archaeologist in the Highlands and Islands) what he & his GF would like for Christmas, as none of us wants to buy unneeded things these days. Thermal base layers and boot socks!! Feels like every winter day is like Napoleon's retreat from Moscow for them.

I have had this horrible cold for about five days now and I am really really fed up with it. Can I please stop b*stard well sneezing now, please?

Your seasonal reminder that if you'd like to hear four ghost story writers reading their scary stories, here we go. It starts with my December horror, "Mrs. Velderkaust's Lease". Other stories by Sean Hogan, David Longhorn and Lynda E. Rucker!

Rain and high winds all day. The dog has been out ONCE to do her business. I offered her a walk in the afternoon and she ran away. Currently snoring on the sofa.

F*ck this winter cold and the microscopic horse it rode in on. Really.

I'm currently reading the last story in ST60. I don't pass judgement on my OWN contribution, but the other four are absolutely stunning. This is a really standout issue. Get it if you can!!! www.lulu.com/shop/sam-daw...

It is prematurely dark, rainy and cold. We took the tiny doggo to the park for a walk and she just refused to walk, so we carried her around. I think the dog thinks the task before us is to go around the park by any means, not for her to get exercise.

I am reading this right now! Stuck at home with a vile cold so having lots of hot sweet tea and this.
Well, I *was* in a bad mood, but now I've got something to dig into later!

More love for Tales of Occult Britain! Thank you so much 🖤
It's exceptionally good. I treated myself to a story a day and every one's a gem. Such a beautiful package of a book, too.

Here he comes with flaming bowl,
Don't he mean to take his toll,
Snip! Snap! Dragon!

Take care you don't take too much,
Be not greedy in your clutch,
Snip! Snap! Dragon!

With his blue and lapping tongue
Many of you will be stung,

They're going to introduce an entrance fee for the Callanish Stones. I can see the rationale, because so many tourists visit them. Those tourists need toilets, & parking, & somewhere to get a cup of tea, and someone to keep an eye on them so they don't scrawl "Kevin was here" on the stones. But...
