What? No!
Wait, no, don't tell me! I'm super good at these games.

Is it . . . Obama?
Hello world. I’m Barry Allen, a stupid CSI with an even STUPIDER secret identity. Care to know what it is?

Thawne laughs.

“What, going to keep me here until he shows up? Then what, Kara?! Barry goes FERAL at the sight of me. He’ll want to KILL me! But you’ll stop him, won’t you? Be the hero?!”
She sighed.

“Sure…”

Then hung up the phone and sent him her location.
Barry pauses. He wants to question her — then realizes quickly. He starts to strangle the phone. There’s only one ‘yellow friend’ she could mean.

“I’ll be right there.”

Thawne senses the other — a disturbance of energy. His little subway trick didn’t work, so he resorts to going out in the field instead.

He follows this ‘Spider-Man’ at a frenetic pace, obscured only by his lightning.
Oh yeah. That *is* worse. Cause the cops are already zooming around, lights flashing, sirens blaring throughout the streets.

And the ambulance he's on is making hard passes through traffic!

"Aw, nuts... C'mon. Just one day? ONE day?"

THWIP!

He's on the move.
Even more worse: he’s stopped by a speedster.

Well, the subway is.

Goodnight, Central City…

Even more worse: he’s stopped by a speedster.

Well, the subway is.
Late for work. AGAIN.

It's not his fault, who works at a newspaper on a Sunday?

He's hitching a ride on the back of an ambulance, praying he doesn't get stopped by a random hit and run, or worse: a bank robbery!

So many rats scurrying to do my bidding…

Thawne steps out of phasing before he can be fully revealed. He spreads his arms apart, smiling.

“Hey, kid. Nice trick.”
Cosmo shook his head as he dropped the Lego set box.

"Something's not right. . . ."
Holding up his hand Cosmo mutters softly in Latin for anything hidden to reveal itself.
“Cosmo?” Barry frowns as he glances back at the kid as he’s clearing a spot off the table.

“You — you okay, bud?”

Thawne smiles lazily, turning his gesture into a wave before he speeds away, leaving Ash behind.
Ash doesn't even notice the mistake; he only has eyes for one, and that one has been away for so long that seeing him in the flesh again makes Ash feel like sobbing.

It's not his Richie, but it could be.

He'll never have to lose him again.

Finally experiencing euphoria, he beams.

"Thank you!"
“No, you need to accept your new life!” Thawne says, ecstatic.

He gestures over to Max, choosing the conventionally attractive over the scrawny nerd.

“Look! Isn’t that your precious Richie? Go get him, tiger. Good luck.”
January 19, 2026 at 2:20 AM
“Smart,” Thawne mutters. “Too smart. When did you start thinking for yourself like that, hm? I thought your parents were… your last big thing. Your last regret. Wouldn’t you rather go after the man who TOOK THEM FROM YOU?!”
"Because YOU told me," Iskra responds, already suspicious from his reaction. "You're pushing too hard for this. Like if you say the right thing, I'll just spiral and start killing. I don't have to just take your word, I can find proof myself before acting."
“Who cares?!” Thawne snaps. “I told you Barry Allen KILLED your parents! Why aren’t you racing off to confront him yourself?! This is YOUR moment!”
January 19, 2026 at 2:17 AM
Thawne smiles loosely. It turns into a smirk.

“You can ask him. If he lies, I’ll tell you everything.”
“What?…”

That came as a surprise to her… She knew he had a Supergirl from his world or something, she just never met her…

Her grip loosened a bit.

“Do… do you have any proof of that?”
Thawne sneers.

“Didn’t you ask him what happened to HIS Supergirl? She’s dead. Because of HIM. And you will be too, if you don’t do as I say.”

"He was like me... He couldn't control his powers and therefore he..."

Iskra feels himself trying to sympathise. He knows how terrifying it is to wake up with a power you can't control.

But...

"Why... Why was he even in the vicinity?"
“Read more,” Thawne rolls his eyes.

“It was just a cover up. A mistake Barry made when he was first starting out — HE started the storm. HE killed your parents, and his team covered it up.”

"—!"

Ash thinks this over for a moment. Maybe in this timeline, Damien is a good boss. Maybe his father isn't homophobic. Maybe his mother isn't dead.

So many possibilities...

"What do you know about this place? I... I need briefing before I can accept being here..."
“Oh, him?” Thawne says easily.

“You ARE him. You erased him by coming here. Nobody will know the difference. You’re welcome.”

Thawne sneers.

“Didn’t you ask him what happened to HIS Supergirl? She’s dead. Because of HIM. And you will be too, if you don’t do as I say.”
“From what HE told me, you tried to kill him. Now… I don't know what happened, he is still alive, and you are not in prison.

I am not such a good person as other heroes, so I need a better excuse to not lock you away than 'The Flash may not like me.'”
Thawne attempts a shrug.

“Perhaps. Perhaps not. Wouldn’t it be better to find out yourself?”

"Suicide? How... How does a fire from an electrical storm cause two perfectly healthy people with a child to... to—"

Iskra bites his tongue to keep himself from getting too emotional, the pain holding back his tears.

"But electricity isn't the Flash's thing, it's mine..."
The case contains details about an electrical storm fire, one that Barry found after the fact. One that he signed off on as a CSI.

And one that he ruled as a suicide. Not murder.

“You ARE him. You erased him by coming here. Nobody will know the difference. You’re welcome.”
Ash's trust in Thawne increases tenfold when he sees Richie again. Though he does need to address one potential issue.

"What about the other version of me that's here? I can't approach anyone yet, they'll think I'm him."
Thawne smiles. He speeds Ash away immediately, off to the tiny town of Hatchetfield in another timeline. One where Richie, and Max, and everyone else are all alive. One where the Lords don’t exist. One where this town is simply that. A boring place.

One that could cause the world to splinter.

Thawne attempts a shrug.

“Perhaps. Perhaps not. Wouldn’t it be better to find out yourself?”
“Your point being what? That he may attack me or something?”

The girl raised an eyebrow.

“Because A, I doubt it, and B, the idea does not scare me.”
“If he’s suspected you of being a villain once, he’ll surely do it again,” Thawne sneers.

“No hero is truly good, Supergirl.”

Somewhere in a dark cellar, Ascelin tugs against his chains and curses. He could've been looking out for his younger self, but not while he's detained.

Ash hesitates, then places his hand into Thawne's own.

"Then... I trust you."
Thawne extends his hand to Ash, a gesture of good will.

“I can do that.”

Reluctantly, he allows his gaze to fall on the case file. He *does* want to know how his younger self made it to this point.
Thawne doesn’t answer. He simply waves a hand to direct Iskra to look.

Thawne extends his hand to Ash, a gesture of good will.

“I can do that.”
"If they found a body, he..."

Ash swallows hard, then exhales slowly, regaining composure.

"...I want to see him alive again."
“But I’m not!” Thawne says. He sounds sincere — he is SO sincere. After all, he practices lying so often. He’s fooled so many others into thinking he’s Harrison Wells… he’s a natural.

“I’m not. I’m simply trying to get the truth out there. Especially when someone you trust didn’t tell you.”
January 19, 2026 at 1:15 AM
Thawne doesn’t answer. He simply waves a hand to direct Iskra to look.
"Evidence you could've doctored it is, then."

Though Iskra speaks sarcastically, he does nonetheless look.
Thawne almost laughs. He retrieves a tablet and swiftly brings up the old data.

“What, thought I was going to bring you into the past? Look at this case.”
January 19, 2026 at 1:12 AM
“mmm, too true,” Thawne smiles into her mouth.

“then — no time like the present then, is there?”

“No hero is truly good, Supergirl.”
“Well… Yes, but not exactly the way you put it…”

“I am aware most others do not see my habits with good eyes. Why?”

Her eyes turned back to her natural blue, but her grip stayed the same.
“Tell me — you know the Flash, right?”

He smiles greedily.

“Has he — suspected you of — villainy only because you’ve — been drunk?”
January 19, 2026 at 1:08 AM
“And why should I care? I am speed. I have the forces at my command, too.”

Thawne raises his hand and clicks his fingers together. Time immediately freezes.
» instead of being doused, the tongues licked across the surface and surrounded Thawne in a ring.

"𝐅̾𝐢̾𝐫̾𝐞̾.̾"

Aiden's body floated to the surface, a steady pool of crimson staining the water as he lay inert, his eyes now closed.

"𝛥𝜋𝜕 𝜑𝜎𝜇 𝑗𝜇𝑠𝜏 𝜅𝜄𝑙𝑙𝜀𝜕 𝜀𝛼𝑟𝜏𝘩."

"Show me."

Barry killing his parents doesn't make any sense at all. Iskra's powers took them down in *his* timeline, but his younger self's must've been murdered for them to follow the same pattern.

"I don't see any justifiable reason for why he would."
Thawne pulls away immediately, his face the picture of innocence.

“What, you don’t already know? Are you sure? I’ve been trying to tell you! It WAS Barry! He killed them, called it an accident of course, but… I could show you.”
