Sci-fi authors were right about AI destroying humanity. They were wrong about the means though. It's not taking over the world, it's driving everybody insane.

As an archivist, scrapers are slowing down or crashing our digital archives. New researchers are asking for citations that don’t exist. Historians are generating “photos” to illustrate works. Frauds are generating fake historical accounts for money. It’s making everything harder.
