In Brennan’s defense, asking stupid questions and getting a word salad non-answer is in the spirit of interviewing as far as she is concerned
BRENNAN: This isn't everything you asked for just yet, but would you acknowledge that they are complying with the spirit if not the intent of your law?

MASSIE: No. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken.

“Year after year, trillions are spent on military affairs…just 25% of Trump’s 2026 budget request is left for Americans’ other needs, including transportation, housing, disaster response, cancer research, education, and more.”
Authoritarianism Feeds on a Bloated Military Budget | Common Dreams
Squeezed domestic spending and extravagant military spending have widened inequality, with dire consequences for democracy.

First, Trump and Bondi pledged to release the files.

Then Bondi gave ridiculous binders to ridiculous people.

Then Trump/Bondi said no more files.

Then Johnson refused to swear in Grijalva for months to block the bill.

When it finally becomes law, they release less than 1%.

Hard to believe this businessman went bankrupt several times…
FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now

A hearing is nice.

If you won’t prosecute crimes the moment you have power, it’s useless talk.
Schiff: "I think we ought to bring Pam Bondi before the Senate Judiciary Committee demand answers as to why the DOJ has violated the law."

Asshole thinks it’s a video game
The Trump administration reversed a Biden-era ban on antipersonnel land mines except on the Korean Peninsula.

The memo, signed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, says the reversal would give the U.S. military a “force multiplier” against enemies.

What’s frustrating to me about this agitprop is that it placates to an imaginary middle ground for the sake of a calm that only he would enjoy.

He could’ve reckoned with reality and recited from the facts on the ground, and in doing so, think of someone other than his dinner party pals

Normal legislative powers are not “nuclear.” It’s a basic function laid out in the Constitution.

Going nuclear results in the death of millions of people and destruction of entire cities.

Firing people awful at their job should not ever be considered a big deal. Stop pretending that it is.

There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.

People can’t get enough of couch-fucker JD Vance and all his charismaaaa
Americans are tired of what coastal elites have been shoving down their throats, so I think elevating fresh voices like the vice president, the head of one of the most valuable companies on the planet, a Times columnist, and a Jeffrey Epstein associate who teaches at Harvard is a risk worth taking.
