I love it when the church tries to fleece my 12 year old out of money.

So glad I'm out of this cult.

Today, my mom discovered that Iran pre-Ayatollah takeover was just as progressive as the U.S. I had her Google photos, and she was floored. She pointed to one where you see teens sitting on a stoop and said, "You could have said this was from my yearbook, and I'd never know otherwise."

Education.

I'mtrying to save money on energy by being inventive with things around the house. One thing I realized is I can wear a blanket!. I draped it over me and put a stitch in it so it would stay on.

I just found out I've rediscovered Greek leisure wear by making a chiton.

The #TuskegeeAirmen, an active fighter unit of 450 pilots, were the first soldiers who flew during World War II, conducting more than 15,000 missions

The #WomenAirforceService organized female pilots into the war. They served with distinction.

Their service was historic.

This is so good. I'm glad pharma companies are looking into treating addiction. I heard about the "food chatter" effect that GLP-1 helps silence, and it sounds like this could be so useful to help tamper down on other harmful addictions.
Lilly's CEO David Ricks today said his firm next year will start "large studies in alcohol abuse & nicotine use, even in drug abuse.” (Bloomberg's Madison Muller on news here: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...)

Thrilled to finally hear this from big pharma.

Me, in @opinion.bloomberg.com, in June:
Ozempic’s Addiction-Fighting Potential Is Being Ignored
Several small studies suggest semaglutide can curb cravings for drugs and alcohol. But pharma can make more money elsewhere.

The main problem with drinking unpasteurised, raw milk, is not that you may become seriously ill or may even kill you

It introduces a highly adaptable influenza virus, H5N1, into the human population

Selecting for mutations/reassortments facilitating human to human transmission

50% mortality

🧪🦠
Drinking raw, unpasteurised, milk is a bad idea.

It has no nutritional benefits, but it will expose you to a wide range of pathogens like tuberculosis and Salmonella

Now also bird flu. The mortality rate of bird flu is around 50%

Your choice.

Hey, other science people... am I crazy for pushing back against the Raw Milk fiasco plaguing our country? I had someone try to imply that raw milk had fewer hormones yesterday, and when I asked what part of the pasteurization process is where they add hormones. They doubled back and said that 1/?

I remember having a patient who had a moderate case of covid a month before admission. Early 30s, active, eating healthy, non-smoking. They came in with sob and fatigue. Later that night, the patient had a 30% EF. This was a couple of weeks before the vaccine was available to frontline workers.
For years, some of us have fought back against terrible misinformation that somehow attributed Covid vaccines to a big risk of heart problems.

It’s always been Covid infection, not the Covid vaccine.

Those little dots on a tomato are Springtails! They're essential for terrarium health, as they provide the service of breaking down fungus and rotting matter. They also help clean up after my Armadililidae, who themselves break down decaying leaflitter.
