I feel like people always want to force film into these unfortunate binaries: good/bad, low/high budget and use that for arguments sake. I don’t think only “good” movies are worth discussion nor do I think big budget movies are inherently bad. Everything should be watched. Embrace it all.

This is maybe the nichest note I could start 2025 off with, but the dopamine hit of seeing the Varèse Sabarande logo on this new release of Don Davis' score for THE MATRIX was *very* unexpected
Kind of wish the spine still had the styling of the old discs but I'll happily take this

The longer I think on it, the more I'm convinced that the "Dancing Through Life" sequence in WICKED is one of the best musical numbers I've seen in a movie in a minute
Its this and "Gee, Officer Krupke" from Spielberg's WEST SIDE STORY, those are the high watermarks right now #filmsky
