I love the genre mashup. Give me all the Golden Girls/Cthulhus and WWII/Draculas you've got.

For me, it was @johnharper.bsky.social. I started off playing 5e (as 99% of my rpg gen did) and never noted the authors. But then a GM showed me Blades in the Dark, and I loved it so much I wanted to remember who had written it.
Conversation with @deadlyfredly.bsky.social has me trying to remember the first time I consciously remembered the name of an RPG designer who wasn’t Gygax. Embarrassingly, I am pretty sure it wasn’t until college, after I’d been playing for years and had been exposed to many games.

I like the insight that small characters see treasure everywhere. Matches are instant torches. Floss is strong rope. A thimble's a helmet. Etc.

I love pretending to be an elf just as much as the next guy, but it pales in comparison to the joys of pretending to be a mouse with a sewing needle sword at my side.

I made a "barebones" version of Cairn. Sort of. It's the 2e rules but with swingy and random character generation (no tables, no implied setting). I'm still tweaking it a lot so expect some changes.
It's SRD only now, but here you go I guess.
