Did I mention how fabulous the cast of Beauty and the Beast are? The panto is on at Portobello Town Hall until the 28th, so there's still a chance to see for yourself!

Grand finale of Beauty and the Beast at Portobello Town Hall - and very grand it was!

Special kudos to the Evil Winter Queen, Beira - a voice made for belting show tunes, and able to do the full splits onstage! I think maybe the handsome prince missed a trick when he rejected her marriage proposal. 😉

Tonight's Beauty and the Beast panto at Portobello Town Hall was absolutely fabulous! The singing, the dancing, the costumes, the happy ending - perfect! The performance could give the big stage shows a run for the money. The wee lasses playing fairies and village lasses were awesomely professional!

Yes, you hear the sound of generators.
Yes, this beauty in Kyiv runs on them.
Yes, it’s the sound (and the look) of resilience.

Norway and Scotland have so much in common. But there's a crucial difference. Norway invested its resources in supporting its people. Scotland's resources were drained away to fund Tory tax cuts & illegal wars. It's time to make our own decisions.

The bewitching sounds of Edinburgh's @pitchcraftchoir singing 'Bogoroditse Devo' in Old Church Slavonic.

Pitchcraft always deliver a mix of rare tunes along with old favourites as you've never heard them sung before!

I really recommend listening to Tom Watton's 'Waverley Bridges' (it's available for download on Band Camp). It's a song that reminds us of the challenges many face during the cold Edinburgh winters.

Presepi, also known as nativity scenes or creche sets in some countries, are a special passion in Italy. The little commune of Arcevia in the north of Le Marche invites visitors to explore its narrow cobbled lanes to spot the many presepi displayed outside homes and businesses.

There's something rather special in seeing the medieval streets of Le Marche's iconic 'Piccoli Borghi' hilltop towns all festooned with Christmas lights!
