Only an ignorance of economics can see this as something to write home about. Those prices are now stuck up there. They will not go down unless demand collapses (depression=deflation). And so the only solution at this point is to raise wages, which, obviously, will not happen. This is a distraction.

Can someone tell @npr.org they're not getting their funding back? This is not about a clash over the "drug trade." It's about the real possibility the US military murdered a civilian in Colombian waters.

The city is obsessed with shutting down unlicensed taco trucks and people selling fruit from tables, saying they've gotten complaints from vendors who paid their fees and got to be vendors the right way. I'm 100% with Charles on this one: Unauthorized vendors are a feature of real cities.
