I wonder if maybe they did something to fuss with his apparent height in the picture. Comparing to this shot, where he is quite close to the Declaration of Independence...just doesn't look quite right to me.

I could see one small patch barely with the naked eye, but got a good shot with long exposure down here in Chambana. Neat!

So, I accepted that at some point past, the lettering of that top text line was done and there was a letter on the seam between the left and center sections of the box. Think it was the 2nd M in Memorial.
But they re-did it to add 'Gies' and left the E on the seam. It drives me NUTS.
